It was the mid-week action of the 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League as league centres across the country were blessed with some mouthwatering fixtures. With all games kicking off by 3 pm, attention was equally spread throughout the league venues.

Starting was in Tamale, as the Accra-based club, Accra Hearts of Oak visited Tamale United. With the Phobians losing back-to-back away matches, they were hoping to change the narrative but a repeat of the away trend was a reality. The home team starting well from the blast of the whistle saw Tamale City unsettling the Phobians in the early minute of the game, which gave the home side two goals in the first department of the game via Sampson Eduku in the 17th minute and 36th minute respectively. Which eventually gave them the confidence to move into the break.

The second department started as the home team increased their tally after a dash from Benjamin Nana Yeboah after replacing Eric Ofori Antwi after an arm injury in the 56th minute. The Phobians pulled back a goal through Victor Aidoo but eventually were pushed down after a superb header from Isaac Mensah in the 93rd minute, leaving the Phobians empty-handed at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, while a win for the Home has catapulted them to the 13th position on the league log.

Elsewhere in Dawu, saw the return of the Ogya Boys to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park as they took on Bibiani Goldstars. Win Aduana coming from a defeat in Kumasi, a way to respond quickly in front of their fans was on course as Obeng Kelvin was on point for them on two occasions. However, a win for them has fostered their chances for the league title with 50 points.

The action continues tomorrow as defending champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko take on Accra Great Olympics and Real Tamale United will host Karela United.
