The action of matchday 4 of the 2023/2024 Betpawa Premier League was on as Accra-based club Accra Lions hosted Kumasi-based club Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Accra Lions had an unbeaten run at the start of the league whereas Kotoko was in search of their first win in the league. Thus, the Porcupine had a record to hold on to as they recorded a win against Lionince the 2021/2022 season away from home.

The game started well with pressure from the visitors as they were hoping to get their first win since the return of Prosper Nartey Ogum, whereas Lions were able to break the counter press from Kotoko on several occasions in the first half, however, the first half ended even as both teams went into the break with nothing separating them.

The second department started with a twist as the visitors registered their authority over the home fans. A search for the opener from both teams was on, with 8 minutes of additional time Lions hoping to close up their defense and go home with a point from Kotoko were cut short as
Kalo Ouattara’s strike in the 97th minute won all three points for Kotoko.

This however brings Accra Lion’s unbeaten record to an end, leaving Bofoakwa Tano, Kpando Hearts of Lions, and Accra Great Olympics to have their record to their credit. whereas Kotoko recorded their first victory in the season.
