GPL: IX Wonders grab first win of the season.

The second matchday of the Ghana Premier League commenced on Friday afternoon at the Nana Ameyaw Park in the Bono East Regional Capital, Techiman.

The hosts, Eleven Wonders welcomed Ebusua Dwarfs from Cape Coast. The first fixture of matchday two saw two goals go in for the hosts, Wonders, as they continued their fine start to the season after an impressive away draw to Kotoko on matchday one. Tetteh Nortey opened the scoring from the spot in the first half after a handball appeal was taken by the referee.

The second half saw many fruitless attempts by the hosts to increase their tally not materially but their persistence eventually paid off. A sweet pass-play by the centre forwards unlocked the defence of Dwarfs and saw Prince Okraku tap in the goal from close range. His emotional goal celebration summed up the efforts of the entire Eleven Wonders Team.

Coach Ignatius believes his team is poised for greater things this season as they would continue to cause havoc although they still remain massive underdogs in the league.
