2022/2023 Betpawa Ghana Premier League matchday 18 was graced with some interesting games, as the second round of games was set to begin.

The action started on Friday as Medeama hosted Legon Cities at Akon Park as goals from Nurudeen Abdulai and Joshua Agyemang were enough to give the Yellow and Mauve all three points making their chase for the top 4 a reality.

The Actions also continued on Saturday, as defending champions Asante Kotoko dropped points at Nana Kronmansah Park against Nsoatreman FC. The game which saw new signee Mohammed Alhassan and second-choice shot-stopper Federick Asare was still barren after 90 minutes of the stipulated time.

On Sunday all eyes were directed to the Accra Sports Stadium as league leaders Aduana Stars and second-placed team Accra Hearts of Oak battled it all out to close up the gap from the top spot.

The Ogya boys who came into the party in the second half scored three unanswered goals against the Phobians to boost their chances for the Betpawa Premier League title a reality.

Head coach of the Accra-based club, Accra Hearts of Oak, Slavko Matic believes that the race for the League title is not yet over, however, he believes the next two games of the Phobians will determine whether they will be champions or not.

Elsewhere Great Olympics supporters were hopeful of turning things around after the appointment of former head coach of Karela FC Bismark Kobby Mensah, in their visit to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park against Bechem United in his first game in charge of the Wonder boys.

A brace from Hafiz Wontah Konkoni gave the Hunters all three points as newly appointed Bismark Kobby Mensah tasted his first defeat in the Betpawa Premier League.
