THE REMAINS OF CHRISTIAN ATSU ARRIVED IN GHANA 

All hearts were broken as Government officials, GFA delegated Officials, some old footballers, current players and supporters welcomed the mortal remains of the former Ghanaian International Christian Atsu yesterday at the Kotoka International Airport.

The vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and some appointed delegates received the remains of the former Newcastle and Chelsea winger, in his speech he showed his sympathy to the family and Ghanaians as he pledged that government will play its part in ensuring a befitting burial for the late Christian Atsu.

‘it is a very sad day, that we are here to receive the mortal remains of our brother, friend Christian Atsu, the tragedy that occurred in Turkey about two weeks ago was devastating and we nervously and anxiously hoped that our brother would be found alive, I will like to take this opportunity on behalf of the President His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo and the government to extend our condolences to the family and all Ghanaians for this loss and we will sorely miss him’.

‘It’s a painful loss and the good Lord said in the good books, From Him we came and from Him shall we return, we pray that the soul of Christian Atsu rests in perfect peace in the bosom of the Almighty Lord’.

‘The State would be fully involved with the family in providing him with a befitting burial.
