As the tournament kick starts on the 9th of January 2022, most of the European leagues will be ongoing. Certainly, leagues that are featured by blacks will be affected and the English Premier League is not left out.

Some EPL teams will be missing key players as they have been called by their countries for #AFCON2021

Here is a list of players that will be missing out on the EPL

Nicolas Pepe – Cote D’ivoire (Arsenal)

Eduord Mendy – Senegal (Chelsea)

Cheikhou Kouyaté – Senegal (Crystal Palace)

Jordan Ayew – Ghana (Crystal Palace)

Wilfried Zaha – Cote D’ivoire (Crystal Palace)

Daniel Amartey – Ghana (Leicester City)

Nampalys Mendy – Senegal ( Leicester City)

Wilfred Ndidi – Nigeria (Leicester City)

Kelechi Iheanacho – Nigeria (Leicester City)

Mohammed Salah – Egypt ( Liverpool FC)

Naby Keita – Guinea (Liverpool FC)

Sadio Mané – Senegal (Liverpool FC)

Riyad Mahrez – Algeria ( Manchester City)

Saïd Benrahma – Algeria (West Ham United)

Eric Bailly – Cote D’ivoire ( Manchester United)

There’s no doubt that these players are key performers for their various clubs but much will be needed from them for their respective countries.

We look forward to seeing more spectacular performances from them in the tournament.
