Division 2 side, Real Tettekwao united based in Sankore in Ahafo region has involved in a gory accident at Akrodie junction, close to Goaso.
The unofficial division 2 side who are currently putting things in order to become a GFA recognized division 2 side were on their way to Ahafo region’s capital, Goaso to play a friendly match with Division 2 side, Union Rovers.
75 contingents involving players, technical team members and supporters were in a “weak” Kia Rhino, expecting a safe journey from Sankore to Goaso for their friendly match but the driver lost control of his break, eventually involving in a bloody accident at Akrodie Junction in Ahafo region.
The 75 accident victims were rushed to Goaso municipal hospital, where others were referred to Hwidiem Catholic hospital for treatment but unfortunately, a player, named Fuseini Mohammed was confirmed dead.
Speaking with one of the players called Benjamin Tetteh, he said
” We normally hire sprinter bus for our away matches but in this situation, the sprinter bus driver travelled so we had no option than to hire this Kia Rhino for our match in Goaso”
” The driver was in a top speed so when we reached Akrodie junction, he lost control of the break which eventually resulted in such a bloody accident”. H added.
