After managing to secure all 3 points at the Molineux stadium with 10 men, an after the full time whistle celebration by the visitors did not sit well with some of the Wolves players. The post-match comments added more spice to the return leg at the Emirates stadium.

Three changes to the Wolves side that lost to the Gunners. Dendoncker, Marçal and Trincao all lose their place and in comes strike partner Hwang, Aït-Nouri and veteran Portuguese midfielder João Moutinho. The hosts were unchanged from their previous meeting.

A flying start by both teams, high press and little or no chance on the ball. The home crowd were in loud voices, the Emirates was bouncing. Defender Romain Saiss’s flick into the back of the net was ruled out for offside. An uncertain Gabriel’s backpass to Ramsdale was short. Hwang pounced on the loose ball, going round the English goalkeeper, sending the ball into the back of the net.

The goal sparked Arsenal into life. Dominated the match but found it incredibly difficult to penetrate the Wolves defence. Arsenal continued to create their chances after the break but a resolute Wolves defense was in the way. Still unable to find a breakthrough, Arteta called on Nicolas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah to switch things up. A change was exactly what the hosts needed. Eddie set up fellow substitute Pepe to draw the game level. The Gunners were chasing all three points, pinning their opponents back. Wave after wave after wave of consistent pressure.

The Emirates went berserk after a 95th minute goal by Lacazette to once again

Snatched all 3 points from Bruno Lage’s side in the dying seconds of the game.

The three points moves the North London club into 5th on 45 points with 2 more games in hand. Wolves stay in 7th with 40 points.
