The Black Stars of Ghana and Sudan played to a 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Thursday evening. This was their 14th encounter across all competitions.

The game was evenly matched, with both teams unable to score, resulting in a goalless draw at halftime. The Ghana Black Stars showed an aggressive display, attempting to score early on, but the Sudanese defense successfully absorbed the initial pressure.

Alexander Djiku came close to scoring with a header from the center of the box after a corner kick from Mohammed Kudus, but the ball hit the woodwork. Despite continued pressure from the Black Stars, the Sudanese defense and goalkeeper Mohammed Mustafa managed to keep them at bay.

In the second half, the Black Stars maintained possession and continued to press for a goal, but the Sudanese defense held strong. In the 73rd minute, Lawrence Ati-Zigi made a crucial save to deny Sudan’s Mohamed Eisa a scoring opportunity.

The return fixture between the Black Stars and Sudan will take place on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
