Asante Kotoko SC has appointed Abdul Karim Zito as interim head coach following the departure of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum. The club confirmed the change in a statement released on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, as part of a broader technical restructuring aimed at revitalizing their season after a string of poor performances.
“Asante Kotoko SC is pleased to announce key changes to the club’s technical leadership as part of an ongoing strategic restructuring,” the statement read.
Karim Zito a former player and previous head coach of the club has been named Technical Director and will also serve as Acting Head Coach until a permanent replacement is appointed. Zito brings significant pedigree, having guided Dreams FC to a historic CAF Confederation Cup semi‑final and leading Ghana’s U‑20 team to the 2021 Africa U‑20 Cup of Nations title.
Currently on a four‑game winless streak, Asante Kotoko will look to bounce back when they face Aduana Stars this Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
