The countdown to the Ghana Football Association general election in Tamale is gradually getting near as the Electoral Commission of the federation has closed down the chance for individuals who will love to partake in the upcoming election, however, the number of people who have picked up forms to be voted upon for the Executive Council position is high.

Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association Mr George Afriyie has revealed how dangerous the Kurt E. S Okraku administration has been which has given room for a lot of people who think they can change the narrative hence picking up forms to fight for the Executive Council of the federation.

According to Mr Afriyie, the number of people who are clamouring to become the Exco member is enough justification that everything is not well with our football. He told Accra-based station Peace FM.

The number of people who are clamouring to become ExCo members is enough justification to tell you that everything is not right,” he said.

“If the people who want to contest the executive council position think that Mr Okraku has done well then let us withdraw and all of us go and back them plus the executive council.

“If they have done so well then I expect everybody who has picked forms to contest the executive council to withdraw. If they drop I will be the first to drop then everything is fine,” he ended

The election is set to come off on 27th September 2023.
