African giant, Al Ahly has conquered Africa once again after defeating their bitter rivals Zamalek SC in keenly contested finals at Cairo international stadium.

The red devils got an early lead through midfielder Amr Soleya header from left-back Ali Maaloul corner kick in the 5th minute. In the 31st minute, Zamalek skipper Mahmoud Abdelrazek Hassan Fadlala popularly known as Shikabala responded positively with a classic goal, assisted by Morrocan Achraf Bencharki.
The first half ended with a leveled scoreline. In the 2nd half, the game was once again engulfed with intensity but midfielder Mohamed Magdi Kafsha got the final goal and the winner for Cairo-based club Al Ahly in the 86th minute. Algerian referee Mustapha Ghorbal eventually brought the historic finals to an end and Africa club of the century, Al Ahly emerged victorious over their bitter rivals Zamalek SC.

The red devils, Al Ahly have won the Caf Champions League for a record 9 times and is arguably the most decorated African club.

Coach Pitso Mosimane has won his 2nd trophy for Al Ahly after just three months of appointment and winning the Caf CL with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016 and Al Ahly in 2020 makes him the third coach to win Caf champions league with two different clubs after Mahmoud Al-Gohary with Al Ahly(1982), Zamalek(1993) and Argentine Oscar Fullone with Asec Mimosa(1998), Raja Casablanca(1999).

Pitso Mosimane has ended Al Ahly’s 7year search for the CAF champions league title while rivals, Zamalek SC are still searching for the first caf champions league title in 18years.
