The third game of the second round of fixtures of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) was between Senegal, captained by Liverpool star Sadio Mane and Guinea captained also by another Liverpool teammate Nabby Keita. With both teams keeping a cleansheet in their first game, it was really a matter of which defense gives in.
Both sides were defending very well keeping the chances to a minimum. The Guinea midfield were edging it over their opponents which subsequently led to their slight dominance over the West African country.
The first half ended goalless as both sides were making is difficult for their opponents to penetrate and were also finding it difficult themselves to find an opener. The Guinea team would know to be weary of conceding a late goal against this Senegalese side. The game ended in a goalless draw, the third in the competition so far. In all truth, a draw and goalless is a true reflection of the match.
Malawi welcome Zimbabwe in the second of four fixtures to be played.
