It’s the race to the qualification of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast as the four champions, the Blackstars of Ghana host the Palancas Negras of Angola at the Kumasi Baba Sports today.
With both teams with 4 points after two matches, a win for the Blackstars will increase their chances to boost their qualification in group E. With both teams meeting 6 times with Ghana winning 3 of those encounters, 2 Draws and a Lose to their credit, however, positions them as the clear favourite.
With Chris Hughton beginning his stint as the head coach of the Blackstars, a test for him in front of his fans will be of good help.
With a warm welcome from the home fans on Tuesday, the Blackstars will have to rise above their normal performance as they tend to win back their love after a back-to-back abysmal performance in the last two competitions. After the additions of Inaki, Salisu, and Tariq Lamptey the home fans will be eager to see their new stars.
However, a big blow for Ghana, as Tariq Lamptey missed out on the Angola clash due to an injury while Jojo Wollacot was cleared out yesterday after suffering an injury last Tuesday.
The Palancas Negras of Angola is hoping to grab a point as they will return home for the return fixture on Sunday, 27th April 2023.
