AFCON2021: Cameroon triumph over Burkina Faso in the tournament opener.

Host nation Cameroon takes all three points in the opening match of the African cup of nations in a 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso.

Vincent Aboubakar’s brace earned the indomitable lions victory after the game despite being down by a goal by Burkina Faso’s Gustova Sangares goal.

Gustova Sangares scored the first goal for the Afcon 2021 tournament by firing brilliantly passing Andre Onana into the back of the net.

Shortly after the celebration, the Hosts were awarded two penalties which Aboubakar converted into goals in the first half.

Vincent Aboubakar couldn’t get his hat trick as VAR ruled his 3rd goal as offside.

Burkina Faso will be looking to bounce back in their subsequent group matches against Ethiopia and Cape Verde.

Meanwhile, the host nation has recorded its first win and will be hoping to take the ultimate.
