As part of events to enhance and develop the playing of the game after the easing of restrictions on Contact Sport, the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) has been embarking on Talent Hunt training program across the country.

The Volta Cricket Association will therefore have their share of scouting as the National U-19 Coach, Francis Bakiweyem will lead and supervise other Coaches in the region to unearth U-19 players starting Friday, November 20, 2020, for two days at 8:00 am each day, at the OLA SHS Park in Ho.

The two-day intensive Talent Hunt, which will see maximum 30 players drawn from the various schools in and around Ho will be taken through Hard Ball drills; Bowling, Fielding & Batting.

The Volta Cricket Association, led by Regional Secretary and Coach, Victor Tetteh, Regional Coach Kingsley Agbezugeh and other Coaches Gilbert Aguadze and Angela Morkeh have been fining tune players at the OLA SHS Park from Tuesday to Friday, 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

“We are happy to receive again national for this program. We have been yearning for more events to improve the game but for Corona. Together with my other coaches, we started this training of the boys from November 3, 2020, and have had six sessions so far. We aim to get the best out from them, come Friday. We will be happy other coaches come around as well from tomorrow.” Victor Tetteh explained.

The Volta Region’s last event was in April 2019, where Anglican Primary Boys and United MA girls won U-13 League respectively at the Ho Sports Stadium.

It will be another memorable event in Volta’s capital as the regional plans to revamp their enthusiasm and commitment to the gentleman’s game as they won the Most active Regional in 2016.
