Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will battle it out for this year’s President Cup on March 4, 2022
Both sides are scheduled to meet again in Accra next month after their clash in the first round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League ended in a goalless draw
Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo will grace the occasion and will kick start the game with the ceremonial kick off and also honor the teams after the game with medals.
The President Cup is an annual ceremonial match organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to be played to honour the first gentleman of the Land.
Asante Kotoko won the last edition played in 2019 after defeating their bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors have won the title on six occasions, two titles more than Hearts of Oak.
The 2020 and 2021 editions of the President Cup was cancelled due to the outbreak of the Covid-19.
