The match day 17 of the Ghana premier league started at the Baba Yara Stadium with a 3-1 win for Asante Kotoko at the expense of Accra Lions.
The Porcupine Warriors returned to winning ways after losing to Elmina Sharks on match day 16.The Cameroonian import delivered a man of the match performance to help the Asante Kotoko extend their lead on top of the table. Frank Mbella registered his 10th goal of the season in the 44th minute from the penalty spot after he was fouled by the Accra Lions defender.

Kelvin Kyei pulled one back for the visitors before the half time break. And Frank Mbella registered his third goal of the afternoon in the 84th minute to secure the win for the Porcupine Warriors.

Berekum Chelsea and the Hunters, Bechem United recorded a 1-1 Berekum Golden city park.

Adjetey scored in the 91st minute to settle the tight contest in favor of Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.Sharks will feel disappointed as they put up a strong performance.

Bright Adjei scored an impressive first half hat-trick as Aduana Stars recorded a resounding 3-0 win over Eleven Wonders in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

WAFA ended the first half of the season on a losing note after a 1-0 defeat to Karela United at home on Sunday.

The Academy dominated play and were in firm control of the match only to be undone by a late own goal.

Real Tamale United played out a 0-0 draw with ten-man defending champions Hearts of Oak at the Tamale Sports Stadium to end the first half of the season.

The Phobians made seven changes to the starting line-up which included Sully Muntari making his first start and a debut for Daniel Korsah.

Isaac Mensah was also given the nod to start ahead of Kofi Kordzi.
